Mark and Cheryl Deans of sponsor Lakes Corvette Club at the Veterans Car, Truck and Bike Show benefiting Samaritan Hospice.

The third annual Veterans Car, Truck and Bike Show benefiting Samaritan Hospice was held recently at Cherry Hill High School West. Organized by Samaritan Hospice Certified Home Health Aide Deborah Giacoboni and her husband John, the event raised more than $4,700 to support Samaritan programs and services for veterans.

The professionally judged show attracted 173 cars and trucks, 22 motorcycles, 36 volunteers and 17 sponsors. Class and motorcycle trophies were awarded, each in honor of a deceased veteran, as well as four 6’6” Best of Show trophies.

Samaritan Hospice cares for patients and families coping with a life-limiting illness. The experience of military service – particularly during traumatic combat assignments – can affect veterans physically, socially and emotionally throughout their lives, and especially at the end of life. Samaritan Veterans’ Hospice Services provide specialized care and education for veterans and their families. Samaritan also offers a Veterans Visiting Veterans program, where veteran patients can be visited by veteran volunteers.
